A singulation system
A singulation system is an automated device used in logistics, warehousing, and sorting operations to separate mixed or stacked items into a single flow. By using advanced detection, control, and separation technologies, it arranges items individually with consistent spacing, ensuring each item is transported in a controlled manner to the next stage (such as a sorting system or conveyor belt). This significantly enhances system efficiency and accuracy.
System Composition
The single-item separation system typically consists of the following components:
Scatter Belt Conveyor: Used to initially disperse mixed packages.
Separation Belt Conveyor: Further separates packages to ensure that each one can pass through independently.
Visual Recognition System: Utilizes 3D cameras or deep learning algorithms to identify the position and status of packages in real time, controlling the separation process.
Working Principle
The system captures the real-time position of packages through the visual recognition system and analyzes the data using algorithms to compute the optimal separation order and path. Ultimately, the separation belt conveyor separates, spaces, and queues the packages. This allows the packages to form an orderly single row with specified spacing, entering the DWS (Dimensioning, Weighing, and Scanning) and various automated sorting equipment in succession.
Advantages of Application
Increased Efficiency: The single-item separation system significantly enhances package processing speed, with a theoretical maximum efficiency of up to 8,000 packages per hour.
Reduced Labor: The system can replace 3-4 workers in package separation, greatly lowering labor costs.
Increased Accuracy: With precise image recognition and control algorithms, the separation accuracy reaches up to 99%.
Flexibility: The system can be customized according to actual needs, adapting to the handling of packages of various sizes and types.
Compatibility: Capable of processing various types of packages, including cartons, soft bags, and woven bags, with a maximum weight of up to 60 kg.
Market Application
With the rapid development of the e-commerce and express delivery industries, the application of single-item separation systems in logistics centers has become increasingly widespread. This system not only enhances the automation level of logistics processing but also effectively improves space turnover rates and package handling capabilities. For instance, Hikvision’s single-item separation system is widely used in major express logistics centers, achieving a maximum operational efficiency of up to 6,000 packages per hour and a separation accuracy exceeding 99%.
